Meet Mr. Wani Delux a youth aged 25 years living in Bidibidi settlement, Yumbe district with a family size of 5.

He fled to Uganda in 2016 when the crisis in South Sudan escalated to other parts of the Country. Wani whose state is Bentiu said “ if I had not fled, I would be killed”. He was a student by then and had to drop out of school due to the insurgency. He found himself in the settlement merely without the basic necessities of life. Having lost his parents and properties during the period when the country was under political crisis, life too become impossible according to him.

Although he had lost hope, he kept on dreaming that one day he will be great. He said “when Caritas put advert for vocational skills training. I applied with hope that my dream is coming to light. Unfortunately, due to Corona virus I was not taken to school and life become more frustrating because my dreams seemed to be dying.”

“The most significant change came when Caritas Uganda gave us kind support of Ugx. 3,100,000/= for income generating activity as a group. I started a small shop with that money and now I am in position to buy food items and other basic necessities of life for my home and Life has improved as compared to when I had just arrived in Uganda. Because of generous people through Caritas Uganda, I have a smile now in my life, thank you so much”, says Wani Delux.
